Peach Basil Beer Cocktail

Two glasses of peach basil beer cocktail

Cocktails are made by mixing at least two spirits with the addition of other ingredients like juice, cream, or lemonade. There is no reason why a delicious spring ale can’t be incorporated into your cocktail repetiteur. Our peach basil beer cocktail uses citrusy ale with brandy for a sweet floral depth, peach for brightness, and basil to bring a much-needed herbal note. Simple, sparkling, and easy-drinking, this will be your new go-to cocktail throughout spring and summer!

YIELD

1 large drink dispenser/jug (halve the recipe for 1 person)

TOTAL TIME

8 mins

INGREDIENTS
  • 4-5 basil leaves
  • 2 oz simple syrup
  • 2 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1 cup peach nectar
  • 4 ounces brandy
  • 2 cups frozen peaches
  • 24 oz ale (look for a beer with citrus or basil notes)

DIRECTIONS
  1. In the bottom of a large pitcher, muddle four basil leaves with simple syrup and lemon juice.
  2. Pour in peach nectar and brandy, and refrigerate the mixture for 12–24 hours so that the flavours can incorporate fully.
  3. Before serving, add the frozen peaches into the pitcher and pour the ale into the pitcher, ensuring that you pour down the side of the pitcher to keep it from going flat. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Tip: Add a basil leaf and fresh peach slice on a toothpick as a garnish
