Carrot Orange Ginger Smoothie

If you’re trying to get more veggies into your diet this year, a great way to sneak in one of your five-a-day is in your morning smoothie. This carrot orange ginger smoothie has fibre, protein, and tons of nutrients to get you going in the morning or anytime as a healthy snack. It’s sweet, tart, and earthy, with warming ginger that pairs perfectly with the carrot and orange, making this smoothie feel like a dessert!

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 sliced frozen banana
  • 1 orange, peeled and deseeded
  • 1/3 cup grated carrot
  • 1 Tbsp chia or flax seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 1 handful of ice cubes

DIRECTIONS
  1. In a cup blender or traditional blender, add your banana, orange, grated carrot, chia or flax seeds, ginger, almond milk, and ice.
  2. Blend on high for around 1 to 2 minutes until it is thoroughly combined, and there are no large chunks of ice or frozen fruit.
  3. Pour into a glass and enjoy for breakfast or whenever you need a healthy boost!
