INGREDIENTS
- 1 (19 oz) can chickpeas
- 1-2 garlic cloves
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- Juice of 1 lemon, plus 1 tsp of grated rind
- 1 packed cup of fresh basil leaves
- 1/4 cup olive oil
For Garnish
- Sprig of fresh basil
- Sesame seeds
DIRECTIONS
- In a food processor add drained and rinsed chickpeas along with garlic and process until combined.
- Add salt, lemon, basil and olive oil.
- Process for 1 minute, scraping down the sides periodically to ensure all ingredients are emulsified well.
- Garnish with a sprig of fresh basil and sesame seeds, and serve with your choice of flat bread, crackers, or raw vegetables.
