Better For You Brownies

Sticking to your macros is not an easy task on a good day… nevermind duringTHEchocoholic day of the year (AKA Valentines Day). Not to worry… we’ve got you covered! Satisfy that sweet tooth and try out these delicious macro-friendly protein brownies. With these bad boys in your rotation, hitting your daily protein goal is sure to be a breeze. They are chocolatey, gooey, and oh so chewy – without the guilt – and unlike a certain naughty magazine spread neighbour, these brownies are ACTUALLY good for you.

INGREDIENTS
  • 245g canned pumpkin (banana is a great substitute)
  • 50g sugar-free chocolate syrup (Hershey’s or Walden Farms recommended)
  • 62g chocolate protein powder of choice.
  • 20g unsweetened baking cocoa
  • 20g of a sugar-free sweetener (Stevia or Splenda recommended)
DIRECTIONS
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. Use a food scale to measure out your ingredients and then add the 245g of canned pumpkin, 50g of sugar free chocolate syrup, 62g of chocolate protein powder, 20g of unsweetened baking cocoa, 20g of Splenda (Sucralose) or a different sugar free sweetener of choice to either a mixing bowl or a food processor.
  3. Mix these ingredients by hand (extra gains!) or in your food processor, until no clumps remain but minimal bubbles have formed.
  4. Lightly grease a muffin tin and scoop dollups of your protein brownie batter into each cup (this recipe makes roughly 18 bite size brownies). If you don’t have a muffin tin feel free to use a cookie sheet or even a cake tin! (Note, baking times are for muffins).
  5. Once your oven is preheated put your muffin tin in for 16 minutes.
  6. Let the brownies cool for 10-15 minutes. Don’t get too excited and try and get them out of the tin, I promise you that will not go well! (We know from experience). Patience is a virtue my friends. Do squats while you wait!
  7. Once cooled the brownies should pop out quite easily. It’s chow-down time! 😉 Feel free to eat them all in one sitting (add some more chocolate syrup and or light Cool Whip on top for a little extra yum) or grab yourself a container and keep them in the fridge for a quick high protein snack. Enjoy your yummy guilt-free treat!

Tip: Using a mini muffin tin is recommended for bite-size brownies
